Pneumoconiosis
Pneumoconiosis is a lung disease caused by the inhalation of mineral dust. A fibrous reaction may lead to bronchitis and emphysema. Coalworker’s Pneumoconiosis is caused by carbon deposits, having only a minor effect on lung function, but in some cases there are complications of fibrosis.
Bronchitis
Bronchitis is often associated with smoking, but sometimes caused by exposure to to dust or irritants.
Emphysema
Although emphysema is usually associated with smoking and bronchitis, but may also be a consequence of lung damage from dust inhalation.
Chronic Obstructive Airway Disease
Usually, chronic obstructive airway disease occurs as a consequence of bronchitis or emphysema.
